Fee Support

At Berkhampstead School, we are committed to making our independent education as accessible as possible to families who value what we offer.

We recognise that choosing an independent school is a significant financial commitment, and we are proud to provide a range of fee support options to help make a Berkhampstead education achievable.

Bursaries

As part of our commitment as a charitable independent school, Berkhampstead School offers a number of means-tested bursaries to support families who may not otherwise be able to access an independent education.

Bursaries are awarded in the form of a discount on tuition fees and are based on a full assessment of financial circumstances, including household income, assets and overall financial position.

We are committed to ensuring that any financial support is allocated fairly, transparently and responsibly, with funding directed towards those families most in need.

For further information or to discuss a potential application in confidence, please contact our Bursar:

Early Years Funding

We offer Government Early Years Funding for eligible families, including both 15-hour and 30-hour funding entitlements.

Funding is available up until the term after your child turns five. In most cases, this applies throughout Kindergarten and at least one term of Reception, extending to the full Reception year for children born in the summer months.

Our Fees page provides a fully transparent breakdown of costs, clearly showing how funding is applied depending on your child’s attendance pattern and eligibility.

If you would like to check whether your family qualifies for Early Years Funding, please visit
www.beststartinlife.gov.uk or speak to our Finance Team on 01242 523263, we will be delighted to assist you.

Tax-Free Child Care

We accept Tax-Free Childcare, a Government scheme designed to support working families with childcare costs.

Through this scheme, for every £8 paid into your childcare account, the Government contributes an additional £2, up to the annual capped limit.

Tax-Free Childcare can be used towards Kindergarten fees and Reception fees up until the term after your child turns five.

In addition, the scheme can be used to cover the cost of our wraparound care provision, including Breakfast Club, After-School Club and Tea Club, helping families manage the cost of extended school days.

If you would like guidance on setting up or using your Tax-Free Childcare account with the School, our Finance Team will be very happy to assist.
